When / How do I Register?
Online Registration is open 1/5/20 - 2/15/20. Go to ESMLittleLeague.com. Credit/Debit card payment only.
Walk-In Registration is Wednesday 1/29/20 & Tuesday 2/4/20, 6:00 - 8:00pm at the Dayton Ave Old Admin Building (house by entrance gate). Payment by Credit/Debit ONLY. NO CASH/CHECK.
Late Registration will remain open 2/16 - 2/29/20. A $25 Late Fee for will be applied. Late registrations are accepted only if there is an opening on a team.
How much does it cost to register?
*The Challenger Division is open to boys & girls of all ages with developmental and physical challenges*
What do Registration Fees pay for?
Your registration fee pays for all the operating costs associated with organized little league. This includes uniforms, team equipment, trophies, field maintenance, umpires, charter fees, field permits, insurance premiums, CPR courses for coaches, and porta potty rentals, among other things. We are a non- profit organization run solely by volunteers and it takes everyone working together to make this a successful program.
Important to Note:
Does ESMLL provide financial assistance to families that cannot afford registration?
ESMLL is ready and willing to help any family in financial need. No child will be denied entry to our league due to financial hardship. Please send an email to our league President, Jon Plesent (email@example.com), and he will contact you to arrange financial assistance. Any communication with the league President on this subject will be in the strictest of confidence.
Why is there a late fee in February?
Registration is always open for at least 6 weeks in Jan/Feb which provides ample time for families to register players. With over 300 players, it takes a lot of time to prepare for the spring. We need time to get insurance & permits in place; form teams, order uniforms, make schedules, etc. The late fees cover the additional administrative costs and uniform fees for late orders.
What size uniform should I order?

What will my schedule be?
2020: Practices start the Week of 3/30/20
First Games Fri/Sat 4/17 & 4/18/20
Unfortunately, it is not possible to tell you an exact schedule or days of the week your team will play prior to registration. All Practice & Game schedules will vary depending on your individual coach’s availability. Most teams will play 2 - 3 days per week. We do not play games on Sundays.
When will I find out what team I’m on and my schedule?
Our interleague scheduling meeting is usually the first or second week in March. Our coaches meeting is usually around March 15-20. Soon after that you will be notified of your team assignment & your coach will post your schedule on your team page in the SI Play App. Please contact your individual coach for all questions related to schedules.
My child has previous commitments on certain days of the week, what should I do?
You can notate the days your child is not available in the comments section during registration, HOWEVER, this does not guarantee your child’s team will not play on those days. Most families have their children involved in multiple activities prior to registration. Many are able to take classes on a different day if a scheduling conflict arises. Some children may only be able to attend practice 1 day/week instead of 2. And while we encourage all players to attend as many practices and games as possible we understand that this is not always feasible.
Can my son/daughter be on the same team as their friends?
You can notate requests in the comments section during registration. In the t-ball/rookie divisions we will do our best to accommodate requests. In the Minor/Major divisions our priority is to make each team has an even level of talent and will assign teams accordingly.
What equipment will my ball player need prior to play?
The league provides uniforms to each player. Each team has the use of team bats, balls, helmets and catchers gear. Your player will need their own cleats & glove. Boys will also need an athletic cup. A helmet and bat of their own are optional.
TBALL/ROOKIES - cleats are optional.
SOFTBALL - players are also required to have their own fielder’s mask. Example:http://a.co/3t4Kfnz
If you purchase your own softball helmet, they are required to have a face guard attached.
**The most common equipment problem we see is players that have bats that are too long and too heavy** Most children who are little league age don’t have much upper body strength. They need a light bat to get enough bat speed when hitting. In general, the lighter the better, especially in the tball/rookie divisions. How will I know if my game/practice has been canceled?
League Administrators will announce cancellations via a league wide text/email at 4pm on weekdays and 8am on weekends. You can also check the Rainouts/Cancellations link on the website main menu.
Who can be a Manager, Coach or Assistant Coach?
Any person over the age of 18 that completes the volunteer application and passes a required background check is eligible to hold one of these positions. All applicants have to be approved by the Board of Directors.
The Eastport South Manor Sports Association (ESMSA) also requires ALL coaches to be certified in CPR. ESMLL will pay for the CPR course for all coaches and usually offers a few classes prior to the start of each season.
Why do I have to complete a volunteer application?
Little League International requires all persons in contact with youth be certified and identified by a background check. This online background check is part of your volunteer application.
How do I become a Sponsor?
We are always looking to add new sponsors to our program and are excited to partner with business owners who support our community. Please see the sponsor page on the website and contact our Sponsorship Director, Maggie Romaine at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How does ESMLL communicate with parents & players?
We use SI Play as our management software. You can access the website at esmlittleleague.com.
We also highly recommend downloading the SI Play App on your phone. You can get this through iTunes or Google Play or by using the link at the top of the homepage on the ESMLL website.
Once your player is assigned to a team, the app will provides schedules, calendars, communications, rosters, coaches contact info and more!
We also use league emails & text messages. You must enable your account to receive text messages! If you do not enable text messages on your account you will not receive important communications such as schedule changes and cancellations!
How do I enable emails & text messages?
I’m not receiving league emails and/or text messages?
Emails: check your spam folder, sometimes they get filtered (AOL in particular seems to often forward league emails into spam folders). Also, add email@example.com to your contacts so the emails don't get filtered into spam folders. If you are still having trouble, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Text Messages: Make sure you have enabled text messages in your ESMLL account. To do so, follow the instructions above.
I can’t see my roster or I see last year’s roster in my SI Play App?
Uninstall the App & then re-install it.
If that doesn’t fix the problem, please try the help options below.
Note: You will not see any team details until rosters are posted (you will get an email when this happens)
How do I sync my team’s schedule into my phone calendar?
“iCal” is a great SI Play feature that will automatically sync your team’s entire schedule into your phone calendar. Any changes will automatically be updated!

I’m having trouble using the SI Play app?
REMINDER: YOU CAN ALSO SEE ROSTERS, SCHEDULES, TEAM MESSAGES, ETC. ALL THROUGH THE ESMLL WEBSITE. LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT, THEN CLICK “TEAM WEBSITE” NEXT TO YOUR TEAM NAME. IT HAS ALL OF THE SAME FEATURES AS THE APP.
If you are having trouble using the SI Play app, please do not contact your coach or league administrators. They are not tech support and don’t know any more than you about SI Play web/app.
In the SI Play App: on the menu at the bottom, click “More”. Scroll down to “Help”. You can click then click “Self-Help” for answers to many common questions; or click “App Support” to contact the SI Play support team. They respond to questions very quickly.
